Teenagers in the media

I'm not surprised to see teenagers portrayed like this in the media. Teenagers have been portrayed in a negative way for a very long time. Many of these stories are true but there is a lot of bias towards teenagers. Many people have had one or two bad experiences with teenagers and because of the other stories, they have to hear they give in to the stereotype that teenagers are always bad people. The cycle then continues and this leads to teenagers losing trust in the media.

AirPods ad

 Ad for AirPods

Airpods commercial

Plot:

Someone is on a go-kart riding around a park and it's too loud for the person. Someone offscreen hands them AirPods and they put them in their ears while on the go-kart. Music plays in the background while describing how useful and the features of the AirPods. The person on the go-kart asks where he can buy these amazing earphones and the offscreen person tells them about where you can buy AirPods and the price. "WOW SO CHEAP FOR SUCH AN AMAZING PRODUCT".

Codes and conventions:

Bandwagon: Bandwagon is when the ad states that everyone uses/is doing this and this leads you to believe that you need to do it to fit in. This is especially present with teenagers as they want to fit in. We use this by having one of our endorsements stating that everyone is using it, therefore, making teenagers wanting to fit in and use our product.

Emotional: Using emotions in an ad plays on people's fear of not fitting in and want to be cool. We use emotions by stating that our product will make you cool and will make you fit in. this leads to people wanting to fit in so that they are pressured into buying it.

Unfinished ads: Unfished ads are when you say that your product is the best there is. We have used the convention of unfinished ads by saying are the best wireless headphones. we had our endorsements say that these were the best they have ever used. If people are being told that this is the best product there is, they will be more inclined to buy it because they want to have the best.

Endorsement: Endorsement is when you use a famous person to endorse your product. this means they use their fame to persuade the viewer to buy the product. we used this when we had Xdglizygodyt and Dxcile appear to explain why they liked our product so much. Having a familiar face appear and tell them to buy this it will make them wish they had what this famous person has so they can be like them.

Cool factor: Cool factor is when you state how cool your product is and use this to persuade the viewer to buy your product because it is "cool". we used this by having our endorsements say how cool AirPods are. Xdglizygodyt and Dxcile both said how cool AirPods are.

Script:

 Go-kart:

Theo: This go-kart is too loud

Someone offscreen: “Too loud you say takes these”

Theo: “What are these?”

someone off-screen: “These are AirPods gives the user the ability to listen to high-quality sound wirelessly and it lasts for up to 3 hours of listening time or up to 2 hours of talk time with only 15 hours of charge.”

Theo: “Wow I gotta try these.”

*McZooms off in go-kart*

Actors:

Theo Weatherley (Go-Kart driver)

Hunter Tamanui (Xdglizygodyt)

Matthew Symons (Dxcile)

Tyler Pitcher-Pegram (Voice of reason)

cameraman:

Tyler Pitcher-Pegram

Locations:
The ad begins in Alfred Cox Park where Someone is on a go-kart driving. The second scene is David Williams memorial library where we have our celebrity endorsements.
Potential issues:
The weather could have been an issue because if it was raining we would have been unable to film some of the scenes if the go-kart. To avoid this we had to plan ahead to what days we were going to film
The actors could have been a potential issue because if one of them was sick we would have been unable to film. to avoid this we had to give ourselves plenty of time to film just in case someone was sick or went away.
technical issues could have been a problem like a camera being blurry or shaky. we had to make sure we had the right gear to produce a high-quality video.
transport could have been an issue so we had to film close to our houses and at school.
